Partner with the Assistant Director of Housing to support housing operations and planning using StarRez software Serve as a key point of contact for Advocate, our student case management system. Manage office processes such as scheduling, the Res Life email account, deadline tracking, purchasing support, room reservations, logistics, and financial record maintenance in Workday. Help lead essential Residential Life operations including residence hall openings/closings, health and safety inspections, RA training, fire drills, and other department processes. Maintain organized communication and records with campus partners while supporting departmental planning and scheduling efforts. Provide administrative and operational support to the broader Residential Life team. Keep Residential Life website content accurate and up to date. Welcome and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors in the Student Life & Formation reception area. Support major campus initiatives and peak periods such as Welcome Week and other special projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred. One or more years of administrative work experience. High level of competence in utilizing software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Meet, Chat, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides), Workday, CANVA, etc. Must have a service orientation providing exceptional customer service, and the ability to communicate effectively and exercise good judgment and tact in engaging with students, faculty, staff, parents, PLNU constituencies, and outside organizations. Strong writing and editing skills. Ability to compose correspondence using correct English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, format, and accurate proofreading. Strong organization skills, dependability in follow-through, adaptability, and ability to take initiative, work independently, make decisions, handle stress, and maintain confidentiality of information. Competent multi-tasking skills required, including being able to maintain workflow despite frequent interruptions. Excellent interpersonal skills to relate to students, faculty, staff, and campus partners with an affable and flexible disposition. Self-starter with strong organizational and motivational skills.
