As a Charges Coordinator, you'll play an important role in helping Thames Water manage charges received from Highway Authorities. Working as part of a supportive team, you'll investigate each case, decide whether charges are valid, and ensure invoices are processed accurately and fairly. This is a varied role where you'll work with internal teams and external partners to help reduce unnecessary costs while making a real contribution to delivering an excellent service for our customers.

What you'll be doing as a Charges Coordinator

As a Charges Coordinator, you'll investigate, validate and process charges received from Highway Authorities, ensuring every case is handled accurately and within agreed timescales. You'll use a range of internal systems while working closely with colleagues and external organisations to deliver the best outcomes. Investigating and validating charges received from Highway Authorities using a range of internal systems. Processing invoices accurately and within agreed timescales. Working with internal teams, contractors and Highway Authorities to resolve queries and minimise unnecessary costs. Liaising with external organisations to ensure only valid charges are paid. Identifying trends and opportunities to improve processes and reduce future costs. Maintaining accurate records while managing a busy workload across multiple systems.What you should bring to the role

Strong problem-solving skills with the confidence to investigate information and make informed decisions. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and external partners. A team-player approach, as this role can be fast-paced and colleagues work together to support one another. Previous experience in customer service, administration, invoicing or financial administration where accuracy and organisation were essential. Experience using systems such as Salesforce, SAP, Street Manager or GIS would be highly beneficial. Knowledge of streetworks or highways processes would be advantageous. What's in it for you?

Hourly Pay Rate: £14.26–£17.83 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Expenses: Excluded

Location

Clearwater Court, Reading (Hybrid working with a minimum of one day per week in the office. Our office is located in Reading town centre, just a two-minute walk from Reading train station.) Length of assignment: 26-week temporary contract, with the possibility of an extension and the potential for a permanent opportunity in the future. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm Hours:36 hours per week Please note you will be on assignment at Thames Water via Pertemps
