TRC Talent is looking for a Field Service Technician for our client in Kennesaw, GA

Job Summary

The Field Service & Applications Technician plays a critical role in supporting customers and internal technical operations. This hybrid field-and-facility position is responsible for installing, starting up, troubleshooting, and repairing hygienic pumps at customer sites across the U.S., while also performing service, testing, and applications work at the company’s Kennesaw, GA facility.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Field Service (~40–50% of time)
    • Travel to customer sites domestically (and occasionally to UK facilities) to support new production line installations and pump startups
    • Troubleshoot pump performance issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions on-site
    • Perform field repairs, retrofits, seal replacements, and upgrades across product lines
    • Deliver formal and informal product training to customer operators, maintenance personnel, and engineering teams
    • Document all service activities, findings, and recommendations thoroughly using company reporting tools
    • Serve as a credible technical ambassador for the company brand — building customer confidence and identifying opportunities for follow-on support or product improvements
    • Provide post-service follow-up and feedback to engineering and sales teams to close the loop on customer issues
  • Facility Technical Work (~50–60% of time)
    • Perform pump service, rebuild, and repair work on customer-returned units across lobe pump, gear pump, and AODD product lines
    • Provide technical support and guidance to production pump technicians on production pump failures
    • Support R&D and applications testing — including running performance evaluations on new and existing pump designs at varied speeds and fluid viscosities to generate pump curve data
    • Assist in documenting test results, performance data, and technical findings for engineering and marketing use
    • Train new pump technicians on service requirements
    • Maintain service area tooling, inventory, and work order documentation
    • Perform incoming and outgoing quality inspections on service units
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of service processes, documentation, and standard operating procedures
    • Provide facility maintenance and service support as needed; Manage contractors at site ensuring compliance / permits
    • Support the installation and commissioning of new plant or production equipment on site

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with industrial mechanical equipment — pumps, rotating machinery, fluid handling systems, or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble precision mechanical equipment to OEM specifications
  • Comfortable working directly with customers in both training and troubleshooting settings — clear, professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel domestically 40–60% of the time, including multi-day overnight trips; valid US passport or willingness to obtain one for occasional UK travel
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting technical drawings, parts lists, exploded views, and service manuals
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and exposure to PLC-controlled or VFD-driven equipment
  • Working knowledge of common hand tools, torque wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments
  • Familiarity with safety protocols including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space awareness, and general plant safety practices
  • Proficient with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, email) and able to learn service reporting and ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Business Central)
  • Self-directed and organized — able to independently manage your schedule across field and facility responsibilities without daily supervision
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
