Florida Atlantic University is seeking an HR Specialist - Boca Raton, FL Reports directly to a unit lead, director or upper-level administrator. Responsible for paraprofessional HCM classification and compensation processing to support and administer the University’s classification and compensation structures and strategies. Classification Provides consultation to departmental HR Partners, Business Managers, and Deans/Directors regarding position creation, design, titling, and classification. Perform position reviews and analysis to determine appropriate position title based on the position or role’s expectations, duties, and skillsets required (and desired) and evaluate position duties to determine exempt and nonexempt status (per Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) regulations). Perform any/all of the applicable classification HCM tasks/steps, as required in the University’s ERP, Workday. This is inclusive of any/all requests from the University community, including the Essential Personnel business process (BP). Compensation Perform and conducts salary reviews and analyses for internal reviews for compensation studies, internal equity comparisons/reviews, market salary reviews, etc. Compensation” in inclusive of: FAU Regulation 5.016 - Employee Bonus Plans and related compensation (Work Performance, Recruitment, Retention, COM’s University Faculty Pay Plan, etc.) Additional Assignment Compensation (FAU policy No. 702) FAU Policy 7.5, Special Pay, Lum Sum/Bonuses, Pay Additives Perqusites Perform any/all of the applicable compensation HCM tasks/steps, as required in the University’s ERP, Workday. This is inclusive of any/all requests from the University community. Classification and Compensation HCM Support Partners with the Workday Operations (WO) team and colleges/departments to review organizational structure change requests. Assists in the development, testing, and maintenance of classification and compensation and related HCM data needs, including, but not limited to, HCM business processes (BPs), annual Smoke Tests, etc. Works with all HR units, Payroll, and Workday Operations (WO) to troubleshoot Classification and Compensation related issues. In collaboration with Employee Training and Development, facilitate Workday HCM training for Classification and Compensation and related business processes, as required or requested, to applicable audiences. As a valued member of the Classification and Compensation unit, assist in collecting and/or performing the required data to respond to salary surveys and position inquiries, including, but not limited to, Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), College and University Professional Associate for Human Resources (CUPA-HR), American Association of University Professors (AAUP), Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Department of Labor (DOL), and the State University System Board of Governors (BOG) and College and University Human Resources Executives group (CUHRE). Monitors various reports and follows up with HR Partners as necessary for HCM and related reports including, but not limited to: Costing Allocations, Compensation Plan End Dates, Current Worker Detail Report, Employee Compensation Audit, and Working Titles Discrepancy Report. Other Duties Assist in the review and update of any/all classification and compensation information on the HR webpages and related job aids to ensure for accuracy and compliance. Stay abreast current HR developments in classification, compensation and related/applicable laws and regulations. Perform self-service updates for your individual personnel HR record via Workday (i.e., absence/ sick leave entry, annual evaluation data entry, emergency contact information, W4 updates, etc.) As a valued member of the University community, serve/participate in workgroups or special ad-hoc committees and/or project appointments.
