The Senior Category Purchaser will lead, develop, and execute sourcing strategy for the respective product category. The incumbent will work directly with our sales team as well as our suppliers.

In Addition, the Senior Category Purchaser will be required to set targets for strategic objectives to be accomplished during the forthcoming year and review Global strategies for the product lines with the team members.

Further, the Senior Category Purchaser will take primary role in contribution margin efforts related to price negotiations and bonus agreements with top spend suppliers.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a category, suppliers & sourcing strategy
  • Single point of contact to the suppliers for commercial, strategic and critical escalations issues
  • Manage key RFQ with strategic suppliers according to RFQ split-rules
  • Manage quotation process for new project
  • Analyze supplier costs, steer supplier selection & sourcing decisions
  • Define, adapt and sign-off contract scopes (T&C, Specific agreements)
  • Rationalize supplier base according global strategy
  • Identify, select and develop suppliers according to business needs
  • Monitor supplier performance indicators for rating and sourcing purposes
  • Steer business allocation and savings by using synergy and global leverage
  • Manage supplier costs reduction and bonus plans
  • Monitor suppliers panel in term of risks: dependency exposure, financial status, and market positioning
  • Train Category Purchasers in understanding the ERP system and how to perform their tasks and duties.
  • Set and establish product line strategies and ensure Category Purchaser adherence to expectations.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3-5 Years of experience in supply chain or manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 3-5 Years of experience in a purchasing role, preferably in a distribution or logistics environment
  • Execution of large projects with data analysis strongly preferred
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of conducting data analysis using excel and other Microsoft office products
  • Working knowledge of data analytics tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Access, and/or Qlik Sense
  • CPSM/APICS certification is preferred
  • Ability to speak conversational Spanish preferred
